Rose was talking with is co-workers in the Pentagon about the World Trade Center attack, when American Airlines flight 77 crashed into the building at 400 miles per hour and exploded directly under Tony's second floor office. Sgt. Rose survived the explosion that wrecked a huge hole in the Pentagon, and has become widely known and respected for his views on safety and security from terrorist attacks.
